What makes stable soil carbon? A workshop to plan new cross-site analyses

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly version

Many LTER sites have measurements of soil carbon pools and fluxes, but these measuements are generally not co-ordinated among LTER sites.  The purpose of this workshop is to brainstorm some simple measurements that are common among sites, and that could be used for calibrating new generation soil modules of earth system models (ESMs).  Not all sites can have Detrital Input and Removal Treatments (DIRT), but modified manipulations are possible across all sites.  Sites with grassland ecosystems especially welcome.
